Baker City - Home of the Smiths

This last weekend we had the opportunity to pay our respects for Hazel Smith. Julia's grandmother passed away last week so we packed our bags and went to Baker City, Oregon. It only seemed appropriate that Hazel was layed to rest in the cold winter just like so many that she lived through. It wasn't dreary at all, though. It was just a testament of what a tough woman she really was.

We stayed in the Geiser Grand Hotel with the entire family. We really had quite a bit of fun in this remodeled hotel from the wild west. We played games and stayed indoors as it was so darn cold outside. Rem even got to eat dinner at her own table in the middle of our room. It got even better when she was able to watch Curious George at the same time. That won't be happening again any time soon. Thankfully when the time came to go home, we all made it safely inspite the icy roads and white out conditions in the canyons.

Pink and Orange

It has been a few months since we posted the last picture of Julia, so here you go. We are just counting the days till the "babybrother" shows up. We tried to get a pleasant picture of Remlee and as you can see, she was thrilled to oblige. Sundays are sure rough without naps.... I also wanted to point out that yes indeed, dad dressed Remlee for the second half of the day. Thus the orange shirt and pink pants and shoes. What is it with dad and orange anyway?

Remlee has fallen in love with Curious George and the soundtrack has made it to her top five albums of all time. This is accompanied with Disney's Soundtracks and Disneys Childrens Songs. OK, so maybe it has made it to her top 3 albums of all time. She loves to sing along and dance and requires your full attention, otherwise you will receive an onslaught of "look mama look" "look daddy look". Stinkin' cute is all I can say.

Lazy Sunday Mornings

So have you ever heard of a lazy sunday morning? Rem could hardly be bothered to acknowledge that I was taking a picture, let alone smile. Our church has changed from 9 - 12 to 12:30 - 3:30. I guess both have their advantages. We get to enjoy the mornings a bit more, but Rem misses her nap and sure isn't happy for the rest of the day. She sure does love Nursery and asks if she can go to church multiple times during the week.
Rem has taken up tea parties. She will put "babybrothersbear" in one of the chairs and request very politely and insistently that you sit in the other chair. It is stinkin' cute to watch her play. She is very excited about baby brother and if you ask where he is, she will either lift up her shirt to show you her tummy or will jab Julia in the tummy. I'm sure that her level of excitement will diminish when he does show up. Julia is doing well and is starting the count down for the last three months. We can hardly wait to have this little boy join us!

Christmas with the Pughs

We had so much fun with Grandmere and Papa Mark home. We spent as much time as we could with them. I've just put a couple pics of the yearly Lion House dinner, sledding with the cousins and the nativity on Christmas Eve. (Poor Papa Mark was the donkey). Rem was the dancing queen angel, Sam and Maggie played Joseph and Mary while Will played everyone else. It was an absolute blast. I wanted to post a pic of Rem reading with Grandmere and Rem doing her puzzles as well. ENJOY!!!
